Sources of Affect

Sources of affect are the many things that trigger a shift in our  thinking - feeling states and cause us to either respond or to engage in thinking about it or become log-jammed  in a hyped emotion or blame or feel guilty or sorry. This, if we do not or cannot ignore the cause.

  3. Events, happenings, incidents, accidents, occurrences
  4. Situations, problems, difficulties, conditions of life, challenges in life, conflicts, impasses
  5. Dilemmas, impasses
  6. Mind talk
  7. Emotional hijacks
  8. Emotional logjams
  9. Mental struggle, confusion, indecision, conflict
  10. Responding safely, effectively, appropriately
  11. Challenged accepting others
  12. Interactions with others
  13. Overcoming being biased, opinionated and boxed
  14. Overcoming urges, drives, impulses and desires
  15. Managing flights of of imagination and fantasies
  16. Difficulty in returning to normal relating when interactions go awry
  17. Overcoming emptiness, depression, isolated, left alone, feeling guilty, feeling cornered, 
  18. Overcoming anxiety and distress
