Learning to control ourself is not as difficult as it looks.
To begin with recite these commitments every morning for a week. You will start gaining awareness and control by then. If it takes time be patient and keep repeating till it comes to you.
- I am a capable person.
- I gain awareness of things I do requiring control.
- I gain control when I address my mind to that effect.
- I am a person capable and empowered to of control myself.
Then when you become aware address your mind thus:
Hey my mind. I need your help and assistance. Please exercise control over this (mention the item requiring control). It could be
- A thought
- A feeling
- An emotional hype
- A behaviour
- An urge
- An impulse
- A drive
- A desire
- A need
- An yearning
- A bad dream
- A deep want
Then thank your mind for helping you.
Remember - pride and grandiosity are killers.
