A touching story

This is the story of Ashokji and families of his three sons.

His three sons lived separately from him with their families in different cities.

But Ashok ji had made a rule… on Diwali, all three sons used to come to him with their families… how that one week would pass in fun… no one would know anything.

How what happened…it seemed as if their happiness had vanished. Suddenly Sheela ji suffered a heart attack...all her happiness was shattered in one stroke.

The three sons came running after receiving the sad news. After all his last rites everyone gathered in the evening.

The elder daughter-in-law raised the issue, "Babuji, now how will you be able to live here alone, you come with us."

“No daughter-in-law, let it be here for now. It feels like belonging here. In a household with children….” Saying this he became silent.

The elder son wanted to say something, but he silenced him with a hand gesture.

"Children, now your mother has left us forever. She has some things, you all should divide them among yourselves. We will not be able to take care of her now."

Saying this, Ashok ji took out something from the cupboard.

There was a very beautiful silver jewelery in a velvet bag. There was an old wrist watch with a very beautiful gold strap….

Everyone fell upon such beautiful things together.

The younger son said excitedly, "Amma wanted to give this watch to Sarita."

Ashok ji said softly, "And I have already given everything to you all equally. She was very fond of these two things. She used to take them out with great interest sometimes, but now how can I divide her two things among the three of you." ?"

Everyone started looking at each other.

Then the middle son said with great hesitation, "She often talked about giving this adornment to Meera."

But the problem had already arisen. Now Ashok ji was thinking in his mind...what should I give to the elder daughter-in-law??

Perhaps her elder daughter-in-law read her thoughts, "Babuji, you are probably thinking about me. You give the jewelery to Meera and the watch to Sarita... Amma also wanted the same."

"But Nandini, what should I give you... I don't understand?" Ashok ji said.

“You have another precious thing and Amma ji always wanted to give it to me.”

Everyone's mouths remained open in surprise.

Both the daughters-in-law were very surprised and worried… now which precious box will be opened??

Sensing everyone's surprise and trouble, the elder daughter-in-law said smilingly, "Babuji, you yourself are the most precious." Last time Ammaji had told me, "After me, it will be your responsibility to take care of Babuji." Now you just follow his wish and come with us right now without any delay.

Hearing this, Ashok ji's eyes became moist and the eyes of some present there dropped...!!

True Love - A real life story

A story by Ankita Daw on Quora - ghost-writer

Dad: What are you searching in that drawer?

Mom: I couldn’t find my saved money, I need to pay the deliveryman.

Dad: Don’t worry, you’ll find it. How much for the deliveryman?

Mom: 5 thousand rupees. I ordered some groceries and essentials for the house.

Dad paid the deliveryman and we eventually got busy with our daily work.

The next day, Mom, Dad, and I were cleaning the kitchen, when my mom shouted.

Mom: Look, I got my money, it’s in the cupboard. I was so foolish, I searched the whole house for it.

Mom looked so happy because she saved it for her friend’s birthday gift.

But the situation was something else.

Dad got out of the house to smoke a cigarette and I ran behind him.

I said “Why did you do that?’

Father asked: ‘Do what?’

I replied “I swear I have seen you taking the money out of your wallet and putting it in the cupboard.

Dad smirked and replied: “You know she was everything for me! I can’t see her getting sad over the little money she lost yesterday. Because I think we need to care for the person, we love the most!”

Dad takes out a handkerchief and starts putting off his sweat.

I said “Dad, now why are you using mom’s handkerchief? Is it a sign of your care towards Mom too?”

Dad “Nope, because it still has her fragrance”

This was something that changed my whole point of view not only towards life but also towards love too.

Hope you’ll like my answer,

Yours truly,

Ankita

True Love

True love (Text copy posted from Quora)

REFLECTION

"My parents were married for 55 years. One morning, my mom was going downstairs to make dad breakfast, she had a heart attack and fell. My father picked her up as best he could and almost dragged her into the truck. At full speed , without respecting traffic lights, he drove her to the hospital.

When he arrived, unfortunately she was no longer with us.

During the funeral, my father did not speak; his gaze was lost. He hardly cried.

That night, his children joined him. In an atmosphere of pain and nostalgia, we remembered beautiful anecdotes and he asked my brother, a theologian, to tell him where Mom would be at that moment. My brother began to talk about life after death, and guesses as to how and where she would be.

My father listened carefully. Suddenly he asked us to take him to the cemetery.

Dad!" we replied, "it's 11 at night, we can't go to the cemetery right now!"

He raised his voice, and with a glazed look he said:

"Don't argue with me, please don't argue with the man who just lost his wife of 55 years."

There was a moment of respectful silence, we didn't argue anymore. We went to the cemetery, we asked the night watchman for permission. With a flashlight we reached the tomb. My father caressed her, prayed and told his children, who watched the scene moved:

"It was 55 years... you know? No one can talk about true love if they have no idea what it's like to share life with a woman."

He paused and wiped his face. "She and I, we were together in that crisis. I changed jobs ..." he continued. "We packed up when we sold the house and moved out of town. We shared the joy of seeing our children finish their careers, we mourned the departure of loved ones side by side, we prayed together in the waiting room of some hospitals, we support each other in pain, we hug each Christmas, and we forgive our mistakes... Children, now it's gone, and I'm happy, do you know why?

Because she left before me. She didn't have to go through the agony and pain of burying me, of being left alone after my departure. I will be the one to go through that, and I thank God. I love her so much that I wouldn't have liked her to suffer..."

When my father finished speaking, my brothers and I had tears streaming down our faces. We hugged him, and he comforted us, "It's okay, we can go home, it's been a good day."

That night I understood what true love is; It is far from romanticism, it does not have much to do with eroticism, or with sex, rather it is linked to work, to complement, to care and, above all, to the true love that two really committed people profess ".

A liberating and empowering story

At a 2019 conference, Author, Elizabeth Gilbert shared this story, The great mythologist, Joseph Campbell, who spent his entire life studying the religions of the world, was asked, “What is the definition of sacred?” and “How do human beings make something sacred?” He responded, “It’s the simplest thing in the entire world, and you do not need a priest for it, anybody can do it. Here’s how humans make something sacred: You draw a circle around it and you say everything inside this circle is holy. It’s sacred because you said so. That is called a boundary, and a boundary is not a wall. A boundary is not something that you hide behind. A boundary is a golden circle that you draw around the things that matter to you, and you say everything inside this circle is sacred. If you treat it with respect, you are allowed to come in, but take your shoes off and bow because you are coming into the center of holiness here. And if it’s not, and it’s outside, then what do we say? We say, “I do not care.”

"You get to decide what is sacred. The sacred thing inside the circle can be your time, your creativity, your loved ones, your privacy, your recovery, your values, your mental health, your activism, your joy, your very heart and soul. You yourself can stand at the center of a scared circle that you drew around YOUR VERY OWN BEING, and say,”Everything inside this circle is holy.” Not because you think you’re better than anyone else, but because you have humbly accepted stewardship over the divine and mysterious gift of the universe that is YOU."

Story of Cimon and Pero

It is the real story of one of the European country.

There lived an old man named Cimon. He had no other relatives except his daughter Pero.

Once Cimon was sentenced to starvation till death.

As Cimon did not had any other relatives his daughter pleaded with the government to meet her father daily till his death. Fortunately she was granted the permission.

But there was one condition—Pero could not take any perishable items with her. When she visited, the guards would searched her, making sure no food could be snuck in.

On meeting her father and seeing his condition her heart sank.

She looked at her father with motherly eyes.

To provide him nourishment and keep him alive, she started breastfeeding him on a daily basis.

After many days when Cimon did not died, the prison guards spied on her and caught her breastfeeding Cimon!

They arrested Pero and presented her before jailor, but after hearing her selfless nature, the jailor freed her father, Cimon.

Such was the love of Pero. Her act of love is testimony of unconditional true love.

Parents love is common, but a child’s love towards them is rare!

This is an example of women displayIng such type of love. And that is why women are worshiped across all cultures and all over the world.
